Honor guards are specialized units within a professional community, regarded as a mark of distinction and pride for their attention to detail, professionalism, and discipline. They perform ceremonial duties representing their profession at public functions, special events, official occasions and pay tribute to individuals or groups.
The primary duty of an Honor Guard is to provide funeral honors for fallen colleagues. They serve as ambassadors for their profession, representing their values and traditions with dignity and respect.
Lives lived in the service of others deserve special recognition, respect, and honor. We believe that all nurses are entitled to a Nurses Honors Funeral service, and if circumstances allow, an Honor the Living tribute celebrating a lifetime of nursing service.
The Hudson Valley Nurses Honor Guard takes considerable pride in their formal services and the respectful professional conduct of our Tribute Team. As volunteers, we make every effort to provide each service requested, with respect for the availability of our team members.
All services are at no cost; we depend on donations to support our mission. Each service includes meaningful nursing related commemorative items; keepsakes of the special honors rendered by the HV Nurses Honor Guard. Tribute ceremonies are heartfelt and deeply appreciated by honorees and their families.
The Hudson Valley Nurses Honor Guard is actively recruiting volunteers to deepen our rosters for our county teams in Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester counties. Please consider helping us honor our fallen and our profession. Your service will be an amazing experience.
