The FulMont Nurses Honor Guard (FMNHG) was founded with the help of the Otsego-Schoharie-Delaware NHG chapter back in February 2024. We honor and pay tribute to nurses in both Fulton and Montgomery Counties, trying to ensure that no nurse is forgotten. We are a group of volunteer nurses (RNs, APNs, Midwives, and LPNs) who honor nurses for their dedicated service to the nursing profession during their funeral/graveside or celebration of life services. Additionally, we will soon be starting to
honor nurses who are in Hospice or Long-Term Care Facilities who are nearing the end of life with a Living Tribute Ceremony.
Our ceremonies are similar to a military tribute. We dress in nurses’ traditional white uniform, cap, and capes (men do not need to wear cap or cape), performing the Nightingale Tribute and Final Call to Duty for nurses at their funerals or during the Living Tribute Ceremony, honoring nurses near the end of life. It is a very moving and touching experience to participate in these services and the nurse’s families have expressed
great appreciation for honoring their loved ones during our tributes.
Additionally, we have received our Federal 501(c)3 non-profit status, recognizing us as a Public Charity. Donors can deduct their contributions made to the FulMont Nurses Honor Guard. We utilize these contributions to help cover the costs of supplies and services needed to honor nurses nearing or at the end of life for their caring professional services within our community.
