The FulMont Nurses Honor Guard is a non-profit organization that was founded with the help of the Otsego Schoharie Delaware NHG chapter back in February 2024. The mission of the FulMont Nurses Honor Guard is to honor terminally ill and/or departed nurses by performing the Nightingale Tribute ceremony as a sign of respect to them and their selfless acts of service. Our work is completely volunteer-based and is supported by generous donations.
Our group of volunteer nurses (RNs, APNs, Midwives, & LPNs) honor nurses in both Fulton & Montgomery counties during their funeral, graveside or celebration of life services. Additionally, we honor nurses with a Living Tribute Ceremony, who are nearing the end of life and in Hospice or Palliative care, and residing in Skilled Adult or Long-Term Care facilities. We want to ensure that no nurse is forgotten for their lifetime of dedication and compassionate service provided while caring for others and for their commitment to the nursing profession.
During our tribute ceremonies, we dress in nurses’ traditional white uniform, cap, and capes (men do not need to wear cap or cape), performing the Nightingale Tribute & Final Call to Duty for nurses at their funerals or during the Living Tribute Ceremony, It is a very moving and touching experience to participate in these services and the nurse’s families have expressed great appreciation for honoring their loved ones during our tributes.
